Our Board of Directors
Christina Baltazar
Founder, Executive Director
Christina Baltazar founded The Birth & Art Collective to connect families with trusted resources, meaningful education, and a supportive community. As the owner of Christina Baltazar Photography and an Advanced Certified Newborn Photographer, she has spent more than 13 years serving families throughout California's Central Valley.
As a wife and mother of six, Christina is passionate about strengthening families through collaboration, advocacy, and community partnerships, helping ensure every family feels supported from pregnancy through parenthood.
Cathy Porter
President
Married for over 40 years and the proud mother of four children and grandmother of six, Cathy has been honored to support mothers on their breastfeeding journeys since 1997. She became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2009 and currently owns Cathy Porter Lactation Services, serving families throughout Kings, Tulare, and Fresno Counties. Her experience includes working at three Central Valley hospitals and founding the Sierra View Medical Center Breastfeeding Resource Center.
Cathy currently serves as President of The Birth and Art Collective, Vice Chair of the Tulare Kings Breastfeeding Coalition, and has been a member of the Kings County Breastfeeding Coalition since 1998. She am also a member of USLCA and ILCA and a retired La Leche League Leader after 24 years of service.
Marlene Solorio
Vice President
Marlene is a Christian wife, homeschool mom of four, and the founder of Designed to Birth. As a birth and postpartum doula, she believes that women’s bodies were beautifully made to give birth naturally. She’s passionate about educating, encouraging, and supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, helping parents feel confident, informed, and cared for every step of the way. When she’s not serving clients, she’s homeschooling, spending time with her family, and continuing to grow so she can serve families better.
Nicole Parrish
Secretary
As a wife, mother and Certified Baby Wearing Educator with over 15 years of experience, Nicole is proud to be part of a team dedicated to supporting parents and caregivers throughout the Central Valley. She enjoys helping families build confidence through safe, comfortable and practical babywearing. It is a privilege to work alongside others who are committed to helping families feel informed, supported, and empowered every step of the way.
Tyger Sisk
Treasurer
Tyger Sisk is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with 16 years of experience in tax and accounting. Tyger owns the TS Accounting & Consulting, Inc. accounting firm and also works as a school district Chief Business Official consultant. Tyger specializes in school and non-profit accounting and income tax reporting. She thrives on helping teams achieve financial success. Outside of balancing the books, she enjoys traveling.
Quawanda Steinfeld
Board Member
"Q" is a proud wife and mother of five whose passion for pregnancy advocacy and supporting mothers was shaped by her own experience of becoming a young mother without the guidance and resources she needed. Those challenges inspired her to help other women feel informed, empowered, and confident as they navigate pregnancy and motherhood.
She believes every mother deserves support, encouragement, and the knowledge to advocate for herself and her family. Q is honored to serve on the Board of Directors of The Birth & Art Collective and looks forward to serving the community with compassion, purpose, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference.
